UK-BASED engineering and advisory support company Xodus Group will deliver more than 40 offshore operating manuals to the offshore operations crew of the INPEX-operated Ichthys liquefied natural gas project under a contract worth $1.5 million.
Staff from Xodus Group’s Perth operations drafted the key training and reference materials to be used by the offshore operations crew, the company said in an announcement.
Xodus process and facilities manager Neil Coutts said the company was combining experience from its work on oil and gas facilities in the UK North Sea and Australia to ensure the manuals would help the offshore crew carry out their work safely.
“Xodus has a track record of producing clear, concise and robust operations documentation and has been involved in a number of similar projects covering subsea systems, offshore facilities and LNG plants in Western Australia.”
First production from the Ichthys project is scheduled for 2017, with 8.9 million tonnes of LNG and 1.6 million tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas to be produced per year.
