LEADERSHIP and talent consultancy Korn Ferry appointed Warren Harding to head its Western Australia and Asia Pacific expansion.
Mr Harding will be based in Perth at Korn Ferry’s first office in Western Australia and will take up the role as the company’s Asia Pacific sector head for energy, oil and gas.
Korn said Mr Harding has more than 20 years’ experience in consulting to senior management and boards in the energy, mining, utilities, resources and government sectors.
Mr Harding previously led the Asia Pacific energy practice for a global search firm and prior to that role he was the managing partner of Accenture’s energy industry portfolio covering conventional, coal seam gas, downstream refining and retailing.
Korn Ferry Australasia executive chairman, Katie Lahey said Mr Harding had an outstanding knowledge of the energy, oil and gas sectors.
“His deep experience in the sectors will assist clients, in Western Australia and Asia Pacific, transform their leadership to meet current and future challenges.”
“Global companies in Perth need to access talent from an international talent pool and we are delighted to bring our deep capabilities to bear in that market. Western Australia’s proximity to Asia makes Perth a strategically sound location to service the region,” she added.
Mr Harding said that energy, oil and gas are complex industries that regularly face cycles of expansion and rationalisation.
“The best performing companies are those with agile leaders who, when faced with changing market conditions, quickly redirected their focus and available investment to production monitoring, management and optimisation,” he said.
Mr Harding has been joined by senior associate Ella Dachs, who will focus on women in leadership and the energy industry.
