AUSTRALIAN energy services group Valmec has signed a $4.3 million deal for two gas compressor packages at the compression project being developed in Auckland by New Zealand’s Vector Gas.

Starting immediately, Valmec will supply, commission and supervise the installation of the packages at the project site, it told the Australian Securities Exchange.

Exterran Offshore will design and manufacture the packages at its Singapore facilities, with project start up and commissioning expected to be completed in mid-2017.

Valmec managing director Steve Dropulich said he was delighted to have secured the contract and was looking forward to expanding the company’s operations in New Zealand.

Start-up and commissioning of the project was expected to be completed by mid-2017.

Valmec acquired the Australian operations of Exterran in late 2014, a deal which included exclusive arrangement with Exterran Energy Solutions for the future sale and lease of its compression equipment in Australia. ”
