ENGINEERING services company URS has appointed Tim Burgess as Oil & Gas Engineering Manager, to lead the firm’s oil and gas engineering team.

Mr Burgess has over 30 years’ experience in project delivery, engineering and business management, with the last 16 years spent working in the oil & gas industry.

His background includes delivering a range of upstream, gas pipeline and gas transmission facilities projects for major industry players Santos, Origin, ExxonMobil, BP and Shell.

Prior to joining URS, Tim was Group Engineering Manager at Woodgroup PSN where he was responsible for the delivery of EPC projects for both onshore and offshore oil & gas assets for ExxonMobil as part of an ongoing regional services contract.

Mr Burgess has close ties across the industry and is a recent past Chairman of the Process Engineers and Constructors Association, Australia’s peak national body for engineering and construction in the process and energy related industries along with a 15 year association with APIA.

Mr Burgess holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Chemical (Hons) from the University of Melbourne and will be initially based in URS’s Melbourne office.
