HYDRAULIC bolt tensioning company Technofast Industries has opened a purpose built factory which will help it streamline its manufacturing operations.
Situated in the Brisbane industrial precinct of Crestmead, in the city’s south, the factory will also allow Technofast to adopt lean manufacturing principles, company chief executive John Bucknell said.
“Most leading manufacturing companies around the world have adopted Lean Manufacturing, which is basically a systematic method for the elimination of waste created through unevenness in workloads within a manufacturing process,” he said.
Mr Bucknell said the company had aimed to expand its manufacturing capability to help it address increasing demand for its hydraulic fastener systems.
“Our commitment to quality will continue to be achieved by utilising innovative technology, employing well-trained and experienced staff, and performing ongoing research and development,” he said.
Products manufactured at its Brisbane operation include EziJac bolt tensioners, EziTite hydraulic nuts, EziTite TR hydraulic nuts, EziTite head nut, CamNut, plus ancillary items, all designed to utilise the power of hydraulic pressure to produce the force necessary to tension nuts, bolts and studs quickly, accurately and safely.
Mr Bucknell said the company would offer an increasing range of products as standard with its increased capacity, saying the new facility was a major milestone for the group.
“However if an application requires a different configuration, such as reduced diameter, higher output or special materials, then custom designed equipment can be produced in-house to achieve optimum results,” he said.
“We will also continue to provide hire equipment and on-site services, including bolting, flange machining, milling and supervisory skills,” he said.
