FRENCH company Suez Environnement has acquired Melbourne-based Process Group to help it achieve its growth ambitions in the global industrial water market.

The acquisition, completed through its subsidiary Degremont, will extend the company’s geographical footprint in the Middle East, South East Asia and Australia, reinforcing its technical expertise and portfolio towards the Upstream and Downstream Oil & Gas industry.

With further bases in Singapore and Abu Dhabi, Process Group specialises in engineering, design, fabrication, commissioning of equipment for the global oil & gas industry.

The company, which employs about 120 people, deals with complex and challenging projects requiring technology solutions such as gas dehydration, gas sweetening, produced water treatment and sand management.

Suez Environnement international activities deputy chief executive Marie-Ange Debon said the comapny was targeting the oil and gas market for its work in industrial water, with increasingly stringent environmental regulations set to ensure significant growth opportunities in all regions for the company.

“Thus, the acquisition of Process Group is perfectly in line with the acquisition strategy of Suez Environnement to develop its industrial water activity, one of its four strategic priorities,” Ms Debon said.

Suez Environnement supplies drinking water to 92 million people, provides wastewater treatment services for 65 million people and collects the waste produced by 52 million people.
