TWO MODULAR spreader beams will be offered to clients in Queensland and Western Australia by Kennards Hire Lift & Shift as the group seeks to expand its product offering.
The 300 tonne beams stretch to a maximum width of 26 metres, weighing 6,600kg when fully assembled, excluding shackles or rigging gear.
Kennards Hire Lift & Shift general manager Andrew Lambert said the addition of the spreader beams to the company’s range was a natural progression – with the range now spanning 250 kg to 300 tonnes.
“Having one unit in WA and the other in QLD enables us to send them to one of our nine specialist branches throughout Australia and make them available at very short notice,” he added.
“There are a number of major projects being undertaken in WA and NT and we have already received a number of enquiries regarding their availability.”
The 300-tonne spreader beam is a highly versatile, multi-piece modular bar that comprises of sections varying from 500mm up to 6 metres.
This flexibility makes the unit well-suited to a range of lifting solutions and industries, Mr Lambert said, adding that the unit offered a cost-effective option for customers who required additional lifting capacity on a project site for only a short period.
“It negates the large capital expenditure as well as the continuing cost of warehousing and certification a company would need to outlay for a single piece of equipment not being utilised,” he said.
