CHINESE shipbuilder Wuhu Xinlian has awarded a series of new contracts to marine cargo handling company MacGregor, a subsidiary of Cargotec.
Wuhu Xinlian has contracted the company to supply two complete deck equipment packages for a pair of 78 metre anchor handling, supply and oil recovery vessels being built for Sentinel Offshore.
The equipment will be installed on the 12,000 brake horsepower, 150 tonne bollard pull vessels, with equipment delivery scheduled during August and September 2015.
The shipyard had earlier ordered eight dry bulk cement handling systems from MacGregor, two to be installed on the previously mentioned vessels and another six to be installed on platform supply vessels.
The contract includes system design and the delivery of key components, which will take place between August 2015 and January 2016, MacGregor said.
Each MacGregor equipment package for the current order includes a medium pressure anchor windlass/mooring winch, capstans, tugger winches, storage reels, a provision crane and power packs.
From the company’s new Hatlapa range, MacGregor will supply a 300 tonne line pull/450 tonne brake holding capacity low-pressure anchor handling/towing winch.
This will be equipped with friction clutches to enable quick release within three seconds during an emergency.
A pair of Triplex 360 tonne shark jaws and 200 tonne towing pins will also be included as part of the contract.
