WOODSIDE Petroleum’s Robert Cole has resigned as executive director to take up the position of managing director at Beach Energy.

Beach announced in a statement Mr Cole will take up his new post from 1 June 2015, unless an earlier date was agreed by all parties.

Mr Cole joined the Board of Woodside in February 2012 and held the title of executive vice president corporate and commercial.

He was one of only two executive directors, at the company, the other being managing director Peter Coleman.

“While I’m sad to see Rob leave, I’m proud that Woodside has produced another high-calibre oil and gas industry chief executive and we wish him every success in his future role,” Mr Coleman said.

“I have asked Rob to stay on to conclude some of the matters he has been managing and he has kindly agreed to do so for a period prior to commencing his new role,” Mr Coleman said.
