NORWEST Energy NL announced executive director and chief executive Peter Munachen will be taking leave to attend to personal health issues.

It is currently anticipated that Mr Munachen will take approximately three months extended leave, the company said.

During Mr Munachen’s absence, the day-today responsibilities of the role of chief executive will be undertaken by Norwest general manager of corporate and commercial John Annand.

Mr Annand joined Norwest as commercial manager in July 2013 following working at Woodside Energy for 16 years.

Norwest chairman Michael Fry said the board wishes Mr Munachen a full and quick recovery.

“The board supports Peter’s decision to take this leave and we wish him a full and speedy recovery during this period. We look forward to Peter returning to the role of CEO in a full time capacity in the very near future.”

“In the interim, Norwest has the depth of expertise and experience in John and the management team to continue progressing our suite of projects.”

“As always, the board will continue to provide ongoing input to the management team to advance on the solid progress that has been made to date on these projects.”
