A SATURATION diving manning services contract has been awarded to Neptune Marine Services by Technip for work on Chevron’s Wheatstone project.

The contract includes saturation diving services to assist with the project spool installation.

Work is expected to start in the third quarter 2015.

Neptune chief executive Robin King this was one of many scopes of work the company has carried out on the Wheatstone project.

“Neptune has already performed a number of scopes of work on the Wheatstone project and our continued involvement in this key project demonstrates the benefits of our integrated range of services.”

Chevron’s Wheatstone project is located 12 kilometres west of Onslow, Western Australia, and will consist of two liquefied natural gas (LNG) trains and a domestic gas plant, with first LNG expected in 2016.

The offer came after Neptune announce the award of a new air diving contract by Quadrant Energy for works on the North West Shelf.

The contracts include the provision of air diving services, in addition to freespan correction and grouting services.

Works will be performed on-board the Dryden Dive Support vessel and commenced late August.
