JACKA Resources has appointed Neil Fearis as a Non-Executive Director of the company as managing director Bob Cassie resigns.

Mr Fearis is a leading corporate and commercial lawyer in Western Australia specialising in mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings and corporate reconstructions, with a particular focus on the mining and resources sector.

He has been in practice for more than 35 years and worked as a commercial lawyer in London, Sydney and Perth.

Prior to studying law, Neil spent several years engaged in mineral exploration in both Australia and southern Africa and has been a director of a number of companies listed on the Australian Securities Exchange and Toronto Stock Exchange.

He is currently Non-Executive Chairman of Tiger Resources Limited, the largest copper cathode producer listed on the ASX, and recently stepped down from the board Carnarvon Petroleum Limited, where he served for 14 years.

With the appointment of Mr Fearis to the Board, Mr Cassie has stepped down, though he will continue to work with the company as a consultant.

Jacka’s chairman Max Cozijn will take on executive management responsibilities while the company addresses its executive management requirements and new corporate opportunities.
