INDUSTRY trade body the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) has voted to permanently exclude two companies from membership of the group.

LEEA members made the decision at the group’s annual general meeting in November, finding that three different groups had engaged in activities it felt brought the association into disrepute.

The companies to be permanently banned are Singapore-based Cutech Group and Bangladesh’s New Juthi – with the ban also to apply to any associated companies and any companies formed by current board members of those companies.

The third company to be disciplined, UK-based Tacklestore (Safety Lifting), was to be excluded from membership for three years, after which time they may re-apply for membership subject to satisfactory completion of an application and audit process.
