ORIGIN Energy executive director of finance and strategy Karen Moses has stepped down from her role, effective 16 May, and will retire at the end of August.

In October 2015, Ms Moses advised of her intention to retire in 2016 to pursue a career as a non-executive director.

Origin said Ms Moses’ commitments external to the company had built to the extent that it was now appropriate for her to step down from her current role.

Ms Moses will continue her employment with Origin until her retirement to provide support through a transitional period and complete work on a number of strategic priorities.

In addition, Origin announced the establishment of a chief financial officer role reporting directly to the managing director.

Origin is currently conducting a search for a permanent appointment to the chief financial officer role covering both internal and external candidates.

Until a permanent appointment has been decided upon, Origin’s current group financial controller, Gary Mallett will act in this role, the company said.

Origin managing director Grant King thanked Ms Moses for her contribution for the company and wished her well in retirement.
