WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff has appointed Inder Rai as regional manager of power and energy in New Zealand.
Company general manager of power in Australia and New Zealand Paul Williams said Mr Rai brings a wealth of knowledge to the team and will assist in building a sustainable service offering in the New Zealand region.
“Inder has over 30 years of international experience in high-voltage power transmission and substation projects,” he said.
“His experience pertains to the renewable energy sector and significant infrastructure developments in the rail transportation, land development and property markets.”
“His technical depth and skills will deliver outstanding value for our clients,” Mr Williams added.
Mr Rai will be based out of the company’s office in Auckland.
Most recently Mr Rai was chief electrical engineer for the US$20 billion Riyadh metro project currently under construction in Saudi Arabia.
Previously, Mr Rai has established and led power and energy consulting services in New Zealand, Australia and the Middle East.
His experience includes the delivery of high-voltage transmission projects for premier transmission utility companies in New Zealand, Australia, the Middle East and India, the company said.
