HELICOPTER transportation company HNZ Group’s New Zealand subsidiary has entered into a five-year contract worth about NZ$67 million for offshore oil and gas support services to a consortium of customers.
HNZ New Zealand will provide offshore oil and gas helicopter support services to companies including Shell Todd Oil Services, AWE Taranaki, OMV New Zealand and Origin Energy Resources under the contract, which also has five one-year option periods.
The contract started on 1 April when HNZ started crew change helicopter services from New Plymouth to various offshore petroleum platforms in New Zealand using two AgustaWestland AW139 helicopters.
This contract replaces two previous contracts HNZ held with the same customer group which had used three AW139 helicopters.
One of the New Zealand based AW139 aircraft is expected to be redeployed to other opportunities outside the country, HNZ New Zealand said.
HNZ Group chief executive Don Wall said he was pleased to continue working with the company’s long standing customers.
“Through the development of value-added solutions based on innovative sharing principles, we are able to continue the successful partnership with our clients that first began in 1969,” he said.
The renewal came as HNZ New Zealand secured a five year extension to its existing offshore oil and gas helicopter support contract with Shell Philippines Exploration.
HNZ New Zealand will supply two AgustaWestland AW139 helicopters to the Malampaya Gas Platform through to August 2022 under the project extension, which is expected to generate revenues of up to NZ$61 million.
