LANS to bring PNG’s two largest LNG projects together have been held up by a dispute lodged by the former boss of InterOil Ltd.
ExxonMobil had received shareholder and partner approval to acquire InterOil and its Papua LNG gas assets, but former chairman and CEO Phil Mulacek has lodged an appeal against the takeover.
InterOil Corporation has reported that the Court of Appeal of the Yukon has accommodated an expedited hearing with respect to the appeal lodged by Mr Mulacek.
In addition, the Court of Appeal of Yukon granted a stay of the Supreme Court of Yukon’s order approving the transaction, pending the hearing.
InterOil says it will continue to vigorously oppose Mr Mulacek’s appeal.
