SANTOS director Craig Stallan has been appointed chief operating officer of Senex Energy.

Mr Stallan will be responsible for all of Senex’s operations in South Australia’s Cooper-Eromanga basin, starting in August 2014.

Senex managing director Ian Davies said Mr Stallan’s appointment reflected the company’s strategic growth ambitions.

“We are very pleased to have secured the services of such an experienced executive to support our core business as we plan for an extended period of growth,” he said.

“Craig is well qualified to take our rapidly growing business to the next level.”

Mr Stallan has extensive senior executive experience in Australia’s oil and gas industry. He is currently general manager of upstream South Australia for Santos, responsible for the company’s upstream assets in the Cooper basin.

Mr Stallan began working with Santos in 2006 and has fulfilled a number of key downstream, technical and upstream management roles.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours from Adelaide University.
