CHICAGO Pneumatic says its CP6135-D80 impact wrench is one of the most powerful 1-1/2 inch industrial impact wrenches in its range of high performance tools.

The tool is targeted at the oil, gas and petrochemical, mining and minerals processing and other heavy industries.

In a statement the company said the tool minimizes downtime and is cost efficient due to its power-to-weight ratio of 167.1 foot-pound/pound (ft-lbs/lbs) and it provides a maximum torque of 5,900ft-lbs for only 35.3lbs and a high impact rate of 760 BPM.

The CP6135-D80 impact wrench has high durability as a result of its Rocking Dog clutch mechanism, which is encapsulated with grease for constant lubrication, and its plain steel motor parts.

Chicago Pneumatic said a steel clutch housing and aluminum body was used to ensure it can be used in harsh conditions.

The tool has a low vibration of 10.9 metres per square second (m/s2), which according to the company is 30% lower than comparable products and increases the safety of the operator.

The company said the wrench has a reduced noise level and its front air exhaust is angled down, blowing air away from the operator.

It features such as a reversible side handle, a full teasing trigger for smooth operations and to increase control, and forward/reverse switch for easier manipulation.

Chicago Pneumatic said the wrench came with a balancer attachment to suspend the tool.

Chicago Pneumatic Tools vice-president Luis Clement said “With its extreme power, high quality and great ergonomics, the CP6135-D80 is an outstanding bolting tool.”
