CARNARVON Petroleum Limited has appointment of Debra Bakker as a non-executive director.
Ms Bakker is an experienced financier and non-executive director in the natural resources industry with significant international experience. Her skills and experience cover project finance, corporate advisory and mergers and acquisitions.
Most particularly, she has a deep and very broad understanding of banking projects in the resources industry, from junior explorers to global majors. Ms Bakker’s career has spanned Sydney, London, Chicago, New York and since 2003 in Perth, Western Australia.
“We are pleased to welcome Debra to the Carnarvon board. Her contribution comes at an important time when the company’s growth ambitions include funding the Dorado oil field development,” Carnarvon’s chairman, Peter Leonhardt, said.
“Debra has a very strong background in financing resource projects with an extensive career that has included the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Standard Bank London and Barclays (BZW Australia Limited).
“We believe her oversight of management’s funding initiatives for the Dorado development and future growth projects will be invaluable and complementary to the skills of the current board.”
