TAMASKA Oil and Gas has appointed Brett Lawrence as an executive director of the company, the group has announced.

Mr Lawrence has 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, having recently served as managing director of Macro Energy.

Before then, he worked with Apache Energy for over eight years, performing roles in drilling engineering, reservoir engineering, project development and commercial management.

He holds a Master of Petroleum Engineering, a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) and Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from Curtin University.

Mr Lawrence, who joins the board for no additional fee, has been working with Tamaska on the Company’s core Montney project as part time technical executive since mid-2014.

The appointment comes as the company slashes board salaries and positions as it seeks to ensure the strength of its balance sheet.

Company managing director Alexander Parks has agreed to a 50 per cent reduction in his salary (alongside a reduction in hours), while non-executive board members Brett Mitchell and Mark Freeman have resigned from the board.
