SEEKING to bolster its presence in Australia, Dutch recruitment company Atlas Professionals has opened an office in Perth and appointed a new regional manager.

The company’s Singapore manager Martine Rondeel said the opening was an important move for the company.

“Even in the downturn, it’s very important to keep a strong focus on expansion and creating opportunities,” she said.

“Perth is the hub for the oil and gas industry in Australia, with many links to the Asia Pacific region. I am very excited that we now have an actual presence in Perth and will be even closer to our clients and professionals to optimise our service.”

Atlas said it aimed to provide recruitment services for both permanent staff and contractors to some of the world’s leading oil, gas, mining and marine companies across the region.

Heading up the Perth office will be new regional manager Ian Marshall, who Atlas appointed due to his extensive network and his business development experience and skills.

Mr Marshall has a background in the European market as well as local expertise of the market in Australia, having previously worked for Atlas subsidiary Subserv Pro.

Jasmine Adams will join Mr Marshall in the office as operations support officer to help personnel with all commercial, administrative and mobilisation requirements.

Dutch investment company HAL owns a 70 per cent stake of Atlas Professionals after acquiring a 25% stake in the firm on 30 March.

Managing directors Marcel Burghouwt and René Neelissen will remain in their roles.
