ENGINEERING and consulting firm Aurecon’s has appointed as chief financial officer (CFO) Andrew Muller, previously chief financial officer (CFO) of Lendlease Construction & Infrastructure Australia, global chief executive Giam Swiegers has announced.

Effective 1 February 2016, Mr Muller has also joined the company’s executive committee.

“The engineering and infrastructure industry faces huge change and challenges over the next few years. A high performing finance function is essential to drive our business forward,” Mr Swiegers said.

“Andrew Muller’s extensive industry experience, combined with his strategic thinking and operational expertise, will help us achieve significant financial outcomes and drive business growth.”

Mr Muller said he was particularly excited to be joining an organisation with a chief executive that embraces change and values the contribution that finance can make to the future of a business.

Throughout his career, Mr Muller has built high performing finance teams, and is passionate about developing future leaders, Aurecon said.

This appointment follows the decision of Aurecon CFO, Tony McCusker to step down from the role and to continue working for the group on a part time basis.

“I’d like to thank Tony for his contribution as CFO, a position he held for 10 years,” Mr Swiegers said.

“He also led Aurecon as Acting CEO from March 2014 to February 2015. Tony will remain with Aurecon in a part-time capacity helping with a number of key business projects.”

Mr Muller’s appointment as CFO accompanies several other appointments, including Michael Shirley as managing director, Clients; Andrew Maher as chief digital officer; and Maureen Thurston as global director, Design to Innovate.
