Oil & Gas Asia Merges with Malaysian Oil & Gas Services Exhibition & Conference in September 2022

Nov 21, 2021

The Asian Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Engineering Exhibition, Oil & Gas Asia (OGA), that was to be held from 7 to 9 December 2021, will now be rescheduled and merged with Malaysian Oil & Gas Services Exhibition and Conference (MOGSEC) to take place as one tradeshow from 13 to 15 September 2022 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

This strategic move bringing the best of both events will see the emergence of a brand-new industry led premier event, hosting not just the largest participation in the ASEAN region, but also the most inclusive and content filled.

On the merger, Gerard Leeuwenburgh, Country General Manager of Informa Markets Malaysia commented: “This is our response to a rapidly changing industry amidst a post-COVID era. The strategic alliance will further add strong business values to the participation of sponsors, exhibitors, and stakeholders, providing partners and visitors a solid return to trade show experience. I am glad that the response given by our industry partners and clients towards this move has been nothing but positive.”

In the coming edition, a conference track helmed by the Malaysian Oil & Gas Services Council (MOGSC) and partners will bring together speakers across the full energy value chain, addressing critical issues pertaining the industry, while providing a platform to network in engaging dialogues. There will also be new dedicated zones targeted for the benefit of local OGSE players.

“We look forward to a continued successful relationship with Informa Markets and fully support the enhancement of MOGSEC with the merger with OGA in 2022. With this enhancement, MOGSEC will continue to be THE platform to spotlight local industry players, but now leveraging on an internationally recognized platform, OGA. Not only am I certain that this will be another successful collaboration between MOGSC and Informa, but it will also be able to raise the visibility of Malaysian local OGSE players to a different level,” said Ts. Sharifah Zaida Nurlisha Syed Ibrahim, President of Malaysian Oil & Gas Services Council (MOGSC)

MOGSEC, a tradeshow focused exclusively on the prowess of Malaysian Oil & Gas players, serves a crucial role in encouraging greater collaboration within the domestic industry. In its prior edition, MOGSEC recorded a total of more than 7,016 visitors and 300 participating local companies. The tradeshow is a partnership established in 2010 between MOGSC and Malaysian Exhibition Services, now known as Informa Markets.

Established in 1987, the OGA series has chalked up more attendees and exhibiting companies than any other Oil & Gas show in the region. OGA 2019 covered a total of 20,000 sqm and featured 12 international group pavilions and 1,992 companies from 53 countries. It also recorded a total of 27,837 visitors from 70 countries/nations.
